FAQ"S & PRICE LIST
I've never had alterations or custom sewing done. What is the process like?
I ask that you make an appointment which typically lasts 10-20 minutes. If you are needing something hemmed, please bring the shoes you will wear with the garment. We have a dressing room you can get changed in and are happy to help you if you need assistance getting into the garment. I then mark and/ or pin where the adjustments are needed and give you an estimate of what the project will cost.
How long will it take for my alterations to be completed?
This will vary on the time of year and my work load, but I typically can get your orders back to you in two weeks.
How much do alterations/ repairs cost?
I get asked this question a lot, and the answer will almost always be the same; I have to see it! Please see our price list to get an idea of what your alteration will cost but know that it may be more or less depending on the fabric, decorative stitching, layers, etc….
Do I have to make an appointment?
Yes please! Call us to schedule an appointment so we put you in our schedule. (206)795-8979
What forms of payment do you accept?
We prefer cash and check and also accept all debit and credit cards.

ABOUT ME

I started sewing with my Grandma when I was 6 years old. In junior high home economics class, the assignment was to make a pillow. I made a 3-foot-tall bugs bunny. In the early 90’s I was known as “The Merry Milliner” and was selling children’s hats at craft fairs and working/teaching at local fabric stores. In 2007 I converted my living room to a sewing studio and started taking clients. I saw a real need for my services and started trying to grow my business. I built a website, designed a logo and business cards. I got so busy I was unable to keep up with business demand working from home by myself and was not sure what direction to take so I quit in 2017. In 2019 I started working with the Washington State Small Business Alliance, got a business license and decided to learn everything I could about owning and operating a small business. I have recently developed a corporate alterations program and am ready to launch in 2020. In one year, I have raised my sales and services and left a significant impact on my local sewing industry.
